Kalooki 51

Kalooki 51 (or Kaluki or Kalookie) is the variant of popularly known as Ramin. It is similar to Kalooki 40.

 

In Kalooki 51, the value of the face cards is 10, the Ace card also 10, and the Joker card a massive 25 points. But, in the meld, the Joker is worth the point of the card it is representing.

 

Each player deals 13 cards in a game with 2 to 6 players. In a game of six players, each is dealt with 11 cards. Four Jokers are used in place of two, and the players should also make an initial meld with a total value of 51.

 

In this variation, the Ace card can work as a low ranking card (as in it can be used in an Ace-Two-Three meld) and as a high ranking card (as in it can used in an Ace-King-Queen meld). The peculiarity of the game compared to others are after opening they can add cards to their own or their opponent’s melds, and a Joker from their own or their opponent’s melds can be replaced with its substituted card and reused.

 

Course of game is as follows:

  1. Each player can take a card from the Stock or, the opponent’s discard from the Discard Pile, lay down new melds, add cards to their own or their opponent’s melds, and lastly discards a card.
  2. Each round completes when a player melds all his cards and discards the last card.
